February 24th

This month we will be exploring our roles as Cooks.

Please bring your favorite cook book or recipe book as well as a unique (or not so unique) cooking utensil that you like to use.

Topic: Tell us why this is your favorite cook book and how you use the utensil that you brought.

Pic-Nic: If the weather looks like it will be sunny then pack a lunch to eat at the playground after MCB. The kids have a blast playing in the church’s fully fenced in yard while we continue our conversations in the sun! Some of us stayed until 2pm this week - wow!

LOVE LANGUAGE - Gary Chapman

Evening, ladies!

Here is a widget for Chapman's Love Languages quiz. Don't know what the Love Languages are? The "Love Languages" book are available for loan from the Anacotes Library. I was given this book from our pre-marital counselor, and I hear tell that this is a common required read by many pastors from various denominations.

So, I wanna know. What's your love language? Has it changed since you've wed, if you knew what yours was before?

I'm still WAY off the charts for "acts of service" with "words of affirmation" second.. sounds about right.. my husband's language is touch (it means all kinds of physical touch, not only sexual), so I came up the PERFECT solution early on in my marriage to a "touch" man.. he gives me massages as we're both happy (mwhahah)

God bless you all - missed you today. I am feeling better, and appreciate your prayers for Caleb!

February 3rd

This month we will be exploring our roles as Cooks.

One Minute Question: What are your tips and tricks on feeding your hungry family?

Classifieds: (Sorry I forgot about this last week. Please share this week if you did not have a chance last week.) If you have something to sell or are looking for something specific then here is your chance. At the next meeting bring your item, or at least a picture or description of it, to share. And let us know how much money you would like for that item.

Don’t forget about Cari on bed rest. Please check in with her to see what you could do to help her out! 420-9992 / Cari.Hoy@gmail.com

More on Sprouting

So, I have to admitt.... it was fun sharing my "sprouting" adventure with all of you last week. But, I have a confession to make:
I got busy and distracted and the small sprouts didn't make it. The thing is, I forgot to rinse them for a day or so and - they started to grow mold in addition to sprouts - yuck.
So, now I have first hand experience illustrating the WHY of rinsing your growing sprouts!

Here's are some links to the packet I brought on Wed:

Happy Sprouting!

January 27th

This month we will be exploring our roles as Homemakers.

One Minute Question: How do you organize your days? Do you have any set routine for what needs to get done?

Your Quotes: I will be writing up our 2009 Yearly Review for the First Baptist Church. I would love to hear from you how MCB has helped you. This is a chance for us to share our experience and show the church how their support of our ministry has changed family’s lives. Please email me back or write down any quotes or comments that I can share anonymously.

Classifieds: If you have something to sell or are looking for something specific then here is your chance. At the next meeting bring your item, or at least a picture or description of it, to share. And let us know how much money you would like for that item. Or let us know what you are looking for. Want to get rid of a couch? Have girls clothes to sell?

Blessings,
